Hi! I’m Mehran Khalili. I help movements turn ideas into action, produce and host public conversations on politics and strategy, and take black-and-white photographs. I’m based in Athens, Greece.
For the past 14 years, I’ve advised a range of organisations on how to increase their impact — from grassroots movements and citizen media startups to the UNDP and WWF. I co-founded the political consultancy Clearcase. Previously I was a communications adviser to global tech companies, and a management consultant with Andersen.
I also produce and host public conversations with prominent commentators and grassroots organisers, as part of the Democracy In Europe Movement (DiEM25) with Yanis Varoufakis. The ‘through line’ is: resistance and how to confront power. Previous guests include the economist Richard Wolff, author Cory Doctorow, the student leaders behind mass protests and a selection of activists cancelled for their anti-establishment views.

My photographs have featured in exhibitions across Europe, and published in outlets like LensCulture and Vice.
I post most of my work on this site — see the archives here. If you’d like to keep up to date with new posts:
